We are the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) of the Fremont Area Community Foundation. The YAC is comprised of more than twenty high school students representing six communities from all over Newaygo County. Our role is to advise the Foundation's board on issues regarding area youth. The goal of the YAC is to empower youth and improve our community by working on four pillars of responsibility: 1. Youth Needs Assessment YACers research the needs of area youth to determine what type of grants will have the greatest impact in helping area youth. 2. Grantmaking The YAC reviews grant requests for area youth programs and makes recommendations to the Foundation's Board of Trustees on programs that best support area youth. 3. Fund Development YACers set a goal and implement a plan to raise contributions for the Foundation's Youth Endowment Fund. 4. Community Service YACers participate in community service activities which help improve the quality of life for residents of Newaygo County. YACers meet at the Foundation twice each month where we learn to work as a team, develop leadership skills, and have fun! Want to support the YAC?
