The following are supporting organizations of the Fremont
Area Community Foundation. They do have their own 501(c)(3) status, however
they are also linked to the Foundation through a 501(9)(a)(3).
United Way of the Lakeshore
The United Way of the Lakeshore serves Muskegon, Oceana and Newaygo Counties. United Way of Newaygo County was a supporting organization of the Foundation
since 2001 until it merged with United Way of the Lakeshore in December 2007. The Foundation provides a grant to United Way of the Lakeshore to support its administrative and operating costs of the funds raised for Newaygo County. This grant allows 100% of those funds to be used for charitable projects benefiting the people of Newaygo County.
Fremont Area Elderly Needs Fund
In response to the Elderly Needs Survey of 1988 (and the grantmaking initiative
that followed), this fund was created in 1992, acquiring its own assets
through a transfer of funds from FACF. The Foundation provides administrative
and investment support to ENF's seven-member board, headed by President,
Carl DeKuiper. The purpose of ENF is to make grants to the benefit the
elderly.
Amazing X Charitable Trust Fund
The Amazing X Charitable Trust (AXCT) was established as a fund in 1978
with gifts of Gerber stock from Daniel Gerber. Amazing X has a seven-member
Board with Maynard DeKryger as President (former Chariman of the Board
of TFAF). Their primary role is to recommend grants to the FACF Board
to benefit people of Newaygo County with disabilities.
