On Thursday, June 19th, the Foundation will host Ms. Jeanette Walls, author of the New York Times Bestseller, The Glass Castle.
In The Glass Castle, Walls describes growing up in the desert of the American Southwest and then in a West Virginia mining town with her three siblings and the brilliant, unorthodox, irresponsible parents who manage at once to neglect them, love them, and teach them to face their fears.
This inspirational book has been taught at universities in courses on literature, psychology, parenting, child development, and poverty. Walls has spoken at colleges, corporations, and business associations about overcoming hardship and the keys to turning adversity to your advantage.

Speaker Series: Cal Thomas and Bob Beckel!
On Wednesday, November 14th, the Foundation hosted Cal Thomas and Bob Beckel from USA Today's "Common Ground" column. The event took place at the Dogwood Center for Performing Arts in Fremont at 7 pm. The hour long presentation was followed by a book signing.
2007 Community Picnic
On Tuesday, July 17th, FACF hosted the 10th Annual Community Picnic at Veteran's Memorial Park in Fremont from 5:00 - 7:30 pm. A suggested one dollar donation benefited the Newaygo County Autism Society. Over 2,500 meals were served and $3,169 was raised and will be matched by FACF. Thank you to all who came out and supported the event!
