The Fremont
Area Community Foundation Environmental Committee would like to introduce
citizens and organizations to the opportunities for improving and maintaining
the natural resources of Newaygo County. It is felt that through support
of community based environmental projects, the Fremont Area Community
Foundation can assist in maintaining the natural resources that many of
our residents and visitors appreciate about Newaygo County.
The areas of focus
adopted by the FACF Environmental Committee are:
- Water resource
enhancement - surface, groundwater/wetland health
- Farmland and open
space protection
- Conservation of
sensitive natural resources
- Promotion of recreational
tourism
- Solid waste management
- Land use planning
to encourage consideration of our natural resources
Applications for assistance that will be most favorably
received are those that:
- Engage both youth
and adult populations
- Have a strong community
benefit
- Have a comprehensive
media and communication component
- Promotes Newaygo
County environmental health
- Encourages partnership
efforts
More details on how
